"Discover Peace and Mindfulness with Melbourne River Sangha
Thich Nhat Hanh Community"
Welcome to Melbourne River Sangha
Melbourne River Sangha, formally established in 2010, is a lay practicing community rooted in the teachings of the late Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Committed to fostering mindfulness for inner peace and happiness, we gather twice weekly on Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings to support one another in our journey of mindfulness.
At the heart of our community is Harry Huy Nguyen, also known as Chan Hy Son (True Joyful Mountain), who received ordination as a Lay Brother of the Order of Interbeing from Thich Nhat Hanh in 2002. Supporting the Community is a dedicated Care Taking Council (CTC) of experienced practitioners, we all come together to cultivate the energy of mindfulness within ourselves and apply it in our daily lives.
Our sessions offer a variety of activities, including sitting meditation, walking meditation, deep relaxation, listening to dharma talks, sutra studying, reciting the trainings, sharing a cup of tea, and engaging in dharma discussions. Whether you are new to mindfulness practice or have been on this path for years, everyone is warmly welcomed to join us.
